In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, Simsyn Pvt Ltd has once again demonstrated its commitment to education by spearheading the “School with a Smile – 2024” campaign for the second consecutive year. On February 16th, 2024, the company extended its benevolent arm to Walawwegama Vidyalaya, located in Vijithapura, Anuradhapura, marking a significant milestone in uplifting rural education in Sri Lanka.
The event, graced by the presence of the Simsyn team, radiated joy and enthusiasm as the school welcomed them with open arms, accompanied by the melodious tunes of the school’s band troupe. Amidst a backdrop of celebration, Simsyn Pvt Ltd unveiled a series of donations aimed at enriching the educational experience of the 160 students enrolled in grades 1 through 6.
The contributions to Walawwegama Vidyalaya included a plethora of essential resources. Stationaries and school bags were distributed to ensure that each child has the necessary tools to embark on their educational journey. Moreover, recognizing the importance of extracurricular activities, Simsyn furnished the school’s band troupe with musical instruments and facilitated music lessons to nurture their artistic talents.
In a bid to enhance the learning environment, Simsyn also presented the school with a multimedia projector and speakers, facilitating interactive teaching methodologies and multimedia presentations. These donations not only address immediate needs but also pave the way for a more dynamic and engaging educational experience for the students.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Manoj Rathnayake, CEO of Simsyn Pvt Ltd, underscored the company’s unwavering commitment to supporting education in Sri Lanka. “As beneficiaries of the fruits of free education in Sri Lanka, it is incumbent upon us, as corporate citizens, to ensure that the next generation has access to quality education, especially amidst financial constraints,” remarked Mr. Rathnayake.
Echoing his sentiments, Mr. Tharaka Wanniayarachchi, the Principal of Walawwegama Vidyalaya, expressed his gratitude for Simsyn’s generosity. “This donation means a lot to us, particularly in these challenging times when many parents are grappling with financial difficulties. It will undoubtedly alleviate some of the burdens they face and contribute to the holistic development of our students,” noted Mr. Wanniayarachchi.
In addition to their philanthropic endeavors in Anuradhapura, Simsyn Pvt Ltd has extended their support to Ihalagoda Vijaya Vidyalaya in Galle by spearheading the renovation of their library premises. These initiatives underscore Simsyn’s commitment to fostering educational excellence and creating a brighter future for the youth of Sri Lanka.
